    Best crappie lakes in texas?

Wanting to set up a two day trip for my wife and I sometime next spring for crappie. Any info on guides, lakes, place to stay would be greatly appreciated. I don't care how we catch them, live bait or jigs.

Cedar Creek Lake is the top crappie lake in the DFW area in my opinion. If you want to take a guide, Chuck Rollins at bigcrappie.com is the best.

If I still had my boat, I'd take you, but I sold it and haven't got around to replacing it..

Cedar Creek is good when there's water in the dang thing! I think it's currently about 6' low.

              Worth mentioning:
Richland Chambers Reservoir (I can put you on an excellent Guide Service there)
              Lake O' the Pines
              Sam Rayburn Reservoir

Cooper Lake and Cedar Creek. Lake Fork is another good one. If you can find someone that knows it Richland Chambers is on fire as well.

Cedar creek with Chuck or Lane will be a great trip for sure. Spring time on Lavon is legendary, but is probably closed for good. Lake fork is awesome as well but not sure on guides out there.
