Kids first license question

I need to get info on what to ask for
Can I get him one with out HUnters Ed. ( he's 6)
This day kinda snuck up on me, time flies with these little ones.
I knew the day was coming and was looking forward to it but having never needed to buy a license for a kid It completely slipped my mind.
I do plan to go through H E with my wife and kids sometime in the next year but he is ready to hunt this weekend.

Yes, just go in and ask for a kids liscense. You'll need birthdate and SSN

Only need HE when he starts hunting alone. As long as an adult is with him it's not required.

No hunters ed needed! However, to clarify, you will need his social security CARD--not just knowledge of the number.

Really? I've never needed the card to buy my son's. I just tell them the number and they've never asked to see the card.

Same here, just need the number not the card. I always get Ty's at Academy for $7

The number is ALL you need. I bought one for my stepson and I don't know the number. His mom sent me the number over text message and that did just fine

I never had to show a card. It's kind of like voting. Just tell them the ssn number

Ok, just got the license. The Walmart guy did ask for SSN and I Gave him the card. Not sure what would have happened had I not had the card. I guess better safe than sorry.
