I wanted to start mine on blood trails but I think he's gotten too old, almost 14 years old. I did have him retrieving dove, but he is slacking on that in his old age too. I bet you can train them to do it, but they wont be the ideal tracker.

Our red heeler was very shy too at first, had a very humble look to her till she got comfortable. Dont let here fool ya !! She'll be hell on wheels before long
