#1 is a trophy. Shoot both of them.

I agree with #1 being a mature ram but either one would be a trophy with a bow in my book.....good luck!

By the way, it takes about 10 years for a free range aoudad to reach 30" (since you asked about age.)
            Good info, thankya!

No Auodad showed this evening, I think the opening weekend traffic influx probably had them laying low, but I did let the air out of a nice boar hawg right before dark!

I think any free range auodad with a bow (ewes included) are trophys. They are really hard to draw on. They have amazing eyes and know how to use them. Shoot any one that makes you happy.

#1 is definitely a shooter. My guess is right at 30" we have them all over one of our leases. If you look at the body size of the two you can tell #2 is much younger, but is a great representation of the animal.

A couple things we use to judge them is if the horns turn in and make a small hook on end of horns, see#1. Look to see if there is hair rubbed off where horns are rubbing the sides of animal. Last one is look at base of horns, see how #1 the bases are grown together as opposed to #2 where there is a gap between bases. These are slow growing animals, just like Sika said,10 plus to get that big..

With all that said, if you're not hung up on a 30"er, then take the first one that presents a shot..

                    Good luck
