    Scoring axis

Just want to confirm on measurements for axis.

    Main beam length,
    Brow tine length
    Caudal tine length
    Spread
1 or 2 mass measurements per side?

Think I shot a pretty nice one. Curious on exact score.

    Rut roh!
You got something worthy of scoring ...
    Post up a pic.

Sorry, no help on scoring. My axis are all does and went straight to the freezer.

      Scoring axis

Here's my little boy with it. It looks bigger with him holding it. Lol.
Main beams are 31.5" and 31
      Brows are 11.5" and 12"
      Caudals are 8.5" and 10"
      Spread is 26"

I took one mass measurement halfway between brows and caudals. That was 4" per side.

Wow. Bigger than I thought. This puts him about 145" or so.

That's a wall hanger by my standards. Especially if that young man killed it.

no, I killed it. he was just holding it for a picture. I had to wait 40 years to kill my first one, he's still working on whitetails and pigs

I was taught to take the first mass measurement around the BURR, then the next one between the brow and caudal. Only two per side, 4 total.

Your deer should go over 150. Sure looks that big anyway.

TGR doesn't use spread. Great axis

yes, if the first mass is taken there, it's going to add quite a bit. it's my first axis, and was a clean shot... he only made it about 35 yards from the rage 2 blade. I"m happy with him

Congrats on the perty axis. He is definitely gold medal. I'll be in corpus for thanksgiving if you want it measured officially for TGR.
