    Attractant Question

I know this topic has probably been beaten to death more than once but I wanted some fresh opinions on my situation. I hunt in the Hill Country each season on a ~250 acre place with a ton of river frontage. I typically hunt the top field and catch deer coming from the river bottom up and the neighboring ranch heading down (neighbor doesn't hunt but feeds year round). The place isn't hunted or fed all year. I typically take a couple bags of corn with me on Friday when I arrive and corn the field and a couple other areas then hunt Saturday and Sunday. The deer have no problem finding the corn but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for other attractants they might use in a similar situation.

I haven't really found a better attractant other than apple flavored corn. Deer find this stuff pretty fast usually.

Not my property. It's a weird situation, it's my wife's great aunt's land and is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. But she has renters living in small houses and mobile homes on the front of the property (probably around 10 people) and allows them access to the land for hunting. I wouldn't want to put anything out there that they could take.

Thanks, I've seen the apple corn plenty of times but always figured it was more of a gimmick than anything else. You think it's better than the regular stuff?

I put out piles of peanut butter rice bran and bb2 2 weeks ago and the piles were still there Sunday. All of the corn I put on the ground was gone.

People will tell you all sorts of funny stuff on here: vanilla, flavored corn, rice bran, cotton seed, pixie dust, voodoo smoke, angel farts, etc. etc. Those may all work but I've always had great success with good ole fashioned corn. I also will add in some Big&J attractant with the corn from time to time:

Big&J® is the revolutionary long-range attractant that brings the big bucks out and keeps deer on your property! If you want to shoot a big buck, you need to get it onto your property. In this era of food plots and property management, deer will choose to go to the setup that’s best. Big&J® has attractants to help!

The deer love the cubes but if the hogs find them they'll be gone overnight.

Thanks, no hogs out at this place, unfortunately. Mainly WT with some Axis, there are TONS of axis that hang out on a place about 1000yds away, sometimes I can see over 100 just laying in the lady's field. There are also plenty of turkeys that come to eat the corn I put out.
