    Exit Strategies

What are some of y'all's different exit tactics for evening hunts. At what point do you assume everything is gone. Do you try to run anything off before getting down? How so?

If everything thing is gone, I try to climb down as quietly as possible and once I get about 100 yards away I start walking at a normal slow speed, but still quiet. I move at slug speed on the way into the stand.

If there are deer there when I want to get down, I try to wait but that can get boring quick. Usually try to toss something like a big piece of bark or twig. Or I'll use the grunt tube and try to make pig/boar grunt noises.

Throw rattling antlers. Spray scent. Bark like a dog.
      Grunt call.

If it doesnt look like they are going anywhere soon I'll pull out my phone and play either hog sounds or coyote sounds. They usually move off

They usually leave as soon as all the corn is gone. I don't have to wait long after dark.

I have sent a text to other hunters to come pick me up. The deer will leave as the vehicle approaches.
