I was up a hickory(first mistake)
this afternoon, midday to dark, trying to ambush a monster buck in Newton county, when a squirrel took umbrage with me. I guess he decided to protect his buddy the whitetail buck. The sneaky fart hopped in my tree, thinking he was sly, and picked a hickory nut. As I was watching for the buck that was making forearm sized rubs, the would-be assassin dropped the hickory nut. Now, for a rodent that has eyes almost as sharp an eagle's, he has bad aiming skills,
and the hickory nut whacked me in the arm.
As I sat there trying to figure out how to protect myself from a vigilante squirrel, the little Knucklehead started scolding and berating me, letting every animal in the woods know I was there!
So, everybody be warned, if your hunting a big buck in some nice hardwoods, you not only need to fool the bucks senses, but also not get picked off by a squirrel.
