I think army worms. They will destroy food plots or crops this time of year unless sprayed.

Looks to be army worms. They come in swarms and try to eat all they can. I've had them come through my yard one year. Sprayed the entire yard with Permethrin to kill'em. Hundreds and hundreds DOA. The local birds loved me.

I always thought they were the caterpillars that turned into monarch butterflies. I'm not sure if someone told me that, or I just thought it up as a kid.

              Someone here knows the answer!

Army worms. Never good except for other stuff that eats worms. They can pop up just about any time in the spring or fall.

In a very short time period they have almost stripped the leaves off one of my smaller Oaks. These dang things are everywhere. So what works best to kill them and do I need to spray in the trees as well?

They appear to be Radcliffe's Dagger Moths (Caterpillars).
                            They will destroy your trees...
