Well it seems its time for new strings, as mine are beginning to frey a bit after 3 years... Is that too long lol? Just curious is Viking archery still open?? They've always been my go to archery shop, but haven't been since last season. Scott is by far the nicest guy to work with, and he can tune a bow. He has made all my strings for my bow, and its a cool process to watch. Im kind of partial to his work, is there any other shop in Houston or SA that can compare? Thanks for any help!

Viking is closed. Depending on where you live, West Houston Archery (I-10 and Beltway) is an option and I think it's good just never done more there than shootso can't really speak to it. If you live north of town Bow Zone is in Spring and it's a great shop.Last edited by Rounder; 10-23-2014, 10:25 PM.

Scott is good. Just don't go see his Dad...
I replace my strings just about every year just cause I want to. But an average shooter should replace every couple or 3 years. A heavy shooter should replace every year.
Wax your string regularly and you'll get more out of your strings for sure...

That seems to be the consensus on this site... Dont know why, was it the early days of viking? Ive only been a customer since '10. Scott always hooked me up, got free strings, free tuning, and free use of their range.... of course i tipped him and brought him new customers but never really did anything for him and he was always more than helpful in getting me set up. Maybe because he knew i am young and cant afford much idk but hes always be great to me...
WCB, wax my strings regularly. Do yall buy pre made strings or do all bowshops make their own?Last edited by CentexRancher; 10-23-2014, 10:25 PM.
