    Elk Euor Questions

I have been doing my own whitetail and hog euros for a while now and have had great success. Last season I started doing all my coworkers heads and it caught on around the office.

This past week, my boss went to Colorado and shot a decent size 5x5 bull, and he wants me to euro mount it.

The question I have is, will I need to do anything different with a elk skull versus a whitetail? I am thinking about using a galvanized wash tub instead of the pot I normally use for deer for boiling purposes.

    Any suggestions/comments?

Good to know. Any recommendations on pot to boil in?

Since boiling tends to weaken the bone my suggestion would be not to boil it at all. I use maceration. It does take a longer but you end up with a really nice finished product. It will work for any skull.

I don't boil, I simmer. Just didn't catch my typing. Always wanted to try maceration, just never have.

That was the exact tub I was looking at on tractor supply's website. Looks like it works well.

Size makes no difference, same process. Make sure you de-grease prior to whitening.
