Picked up some natural cover scent on the way to the stand.

I surprised a skunk on the way to my tripod a few minutes ago. I heard it spray before i saw it - about gave me a heart attack! Not a direct hit but Im smelling pretty skunky. No bottled cover scent for me, I get it right from the source!

I had one spray on my way to the stand lasy week too. I heard it, turnedand he was about 20 feet away. I guess it was a warning shot. I didn't smell it then but when I passed that area when i walked back out you could smell it pretty good.

I bumped into a skunk in the dark once many years ago while heading to the outhouse at a campground. He didn't spray me though. Just wasn't my time .
