When yall shoot your target bucks?

Do most of y'all shoot y'all's target bucks during opening weekend. Or y'all let them stay around until the rut when his body is bigger?

Bingo, I too hunt a relatively small pasture and a target buck typically being mature doesn't give you many chances.

I did pass a target 8 a few years ago with a rifle twice only to flub my one bow opportunity on the last day of season.

When he is "the" target buck, he is shot the first chance I have.

If he's not in velvet and is hard horned, first opportunity I get, I kill him. The later in the year it is, the more likely he will have broken points,and that for me takes him off the shooter's list.

I don't see bucks before the rut so I never have that option but if I did I would not wait. I will pass a deer early in the season that I might shoot later in the season if the deer I really want never shows up.
