I took a hose.....took some scent free detergent and a big brush. I spent 10 minutes on them scrubbing and they miraculously turned from a dark brown back to the green and red Chips are known for. There was 4 years of sweat, scent free spray and other buildup on those guys. It's like a I got a new pair of boots. I also have a boot dryer from my duckhunting days so they were dry in a few hours.
This is the only thing that has worked for me. Good old fashioned elbow grease.
While I do believe you need to get your boots as scent free as possible, the deer actually smell the molecules you stir up as you walk. There's no stopping that.
While I agree with you technique for my walkin, (unless hunting in a carpeted permanent stand lol), cowpies don't do much for the funky sweaty uppers sitting on the stand...
