    Feeder Timers

Good gracious why are these things so expensive? I recently got my hands on an old Sweeney feeder that we had let a friend borrow years and years ago and it came back with no timer or legs. So what do yall use?

We've been using the Moultrie Pro Hunter Game Feeder for about the last 4 years. They have been under $40 bucks at Academy. Not one failure yet. Battery life is awesome. Most of ours will go 2+ years on a regular duracell 6 volt.

We use the timer and have some boss buck feeders and those timers work great as well.

Texas Hunter Products, great product, great customer service if you need it. I've needed it one time and all it cost me was return shipping for them to upgrade the firmware on my timer and I had it back within the week.

Not to hijack the thread, but can you that use the 12 volt batteries tell me how they work? I've only ever used 6 volts. Do you have to use a solar charger, or will a charged battery run the feeder for a good while? Thanks

I am quite happy with The Timer, I also have a couple of WGI timers that seem to be hanging in there (though I don't have much faith in them, I just want to see how long until they crap out)

My buddy has a CCC timer, that has been through absolute hell. He found it in a creek; apparently, it was washed down from some other property (None of the neighbors claimed it. No telling how far it may have traveled) He sent it in, they replaced a relay and it's been working like a champ for the last 3-4 years.

It was an easy switch since the plugs were the same coming from the HCR branded timers.

Still waiting on a timer that will automatically adjust with the changing daylight.

Thought we were onto something with the timer that Quad developed but that didn't work out so well.
