    Stand hunting

How many hunts in a row do you hunt the same stand? Without being busted, I still feel anymore than 2-3 sits in a row on the same stand disrupts the deer. I usually change stands every other hunt or 2 just to keep them guessing. Anyone else do this?

I think it all depends on what days, back to back days or a week between hunts makes a difference..

About the same.. As long as the wind is right, I'll hunt it 1-3 times.. Even then you're still creating noise and leaving scent in the area.

I still like to rotate around. Give myself lots of options for different winds.

All depends on where your stand is and how and when you get to it. I have one stand that I can hunt everyday of the week if I wanted. One, I won't hunt in consecutive days, and the other, I won't hunt more than 2 days in a row.

How did you come up with your theory BtechDestroyer?

I'm hunting a stand on a feeder right now pretty hard due to some nice shooters coming regularly. I just don't want to over hunt it and throw their pattern. I normally move stands like crazy and too many times have been burned by it. Tomorrow morning will be the 3rd and final hunt for this trip on that stand.

I hunt the same stand every weekend usually! Sometimes I change if I need some new scenery.

Knowing where my deer bed, knowing how they move, and wind direction.

I don't think it could come up with any kind of theory on this. I did 4 hunts in a stand without seeing a single deer and on the fifth hunt had lots of activity.

I had does come in tonight and they were on high alert. I think that mainly had to do with the wind blowing like it was though. They never blew or ran off but just got me wondering if I've worn out my welcome on this stand.

That's kinda my dilemma. I was debating on hunting a different stand in the morning due to unusual low activity but sure as crap I do, those bucks will show at the feeder.

I usually like to give my stands a little rest after a couple of sits. Or you might sit in one spot in the AM and another spot in the PM. I do know though that the last thing i want to do to a solid spot is wear it out.
