After a very long break from bow hunting, I harvested a 3 point buck we needed to remove from the herd this morning. It was great morning watching deer from the tree stand, deer were really on the move following the cool front. I passed on a young 8 pt, and a doe with a fawn. This little dude came out, and I let loose. Immediately I saw I hit back a bit, as it ran off, I saw his insides seeping out. The rage hypodermic put a big hole in him. I waited an hour and started tracking. He ended up about 150 yards away, but was still alive, I drew to hit him again. Before I could release he jumped up, and ran off. As he was running most if his insides fell out. I saw he fell again, about 100 yards away. I eased up to him and put him away. I'm glad I was able to put him out his misery. I've never hit one line this. How do you guys feel about the condition of the meat. I was told by the processor that it should be ok because it did not sit long. Your thoughts?
