    Dog Run Surface

Our dogs, two small french bulldogs, have a access to a section of the yard while we are at work. This is a very shaded part of the yard and two rounds of grass didn't take. We put down playground mulch, which worked ok, but it did not stay in place and has become an issue now that it is breaking down. Concrete is out, open to any other suggestions. What does everyone use in their yard/kennels.

Get some washed rock. C rock would work good. It will stay clean in rain and keep dogs out of the mud. Even some of that buffered glass might work good.

Rubber mulch. It's expensive but lasts forever and is soft.

crusher fines, leveled and rolled to pack it. Works great

Are the dogs gonna poop on it or do they go somewhere else? If so, I'd just get some stall mats from tractor supply. They get hot in the sun if not covered though.
