I have been wanting to do an experiment since the Orange Corn Company came out with their orange flavored corn. I live and hunt in NE Medina County just south of the Medina Lake dam. Mumme's in Rio Medina is 5 minutes away, and the Orange Corn Company is about 10 minutes away. Everyone around here has always used Mumme's Apple Scented corn, so the deer are accustom to it and love it.
So, that's the back story. Now for the experiment. There are several well established trails to and from my feeder. I will be placing a camera and orange corn, and a camera and apple corn on the same trail around 60 yards apart. As to not disturb the areas too much, I will be pulling pictures and refreshing the piles once a week. The plan is to put out about 12.5 pounds in each spot for 4 weeks and post the results. I am setting it out tomorrow after the morning hunt.
The corn spot with the most hits will be maintained and my new ladder stand positioned for my new hand corn hunting set.
