Had a great weekend with a great TBHer and his wife. Chris (stickman) and his wife came up and we got after it Friday evening. Chris sat in a bow blind and the rest of us headed out with the rifle to find her one. We got on a nice buck with some does, but they never let us within range and the rain from the day before pretty much killed any chance at catching one at water. Saturday we started out looking on a different side of the ranch and ran across a really old, nice buck . We decided that he would be a good one for Devina so we got her set up and she made a great shot on a nice old warrior of a buck. A great animal for her first big game hunt.

We hunted the rest of the day and saw a few other bucks but not what we were after, but one of them gave us a good plan B option. It was getting close to dark and we had found the big buck from Friday , but he was on the ranch next door and wasn't in a hurry to move our way, so we were thinking Plan B would be our best option for Sunday morning. We headed over to the house pasture one last time before dark to see if the big boy was on our side yet. He wasn't, but we ran across a buck we wanted even more. This guy has been on our mind since we saw him last year at 85 yards right after we shot our last tag of the year. He has a ton or character and is defenently one of a kind. We got within 200 yards and Chris smoked him and he didn't take a step. Again, it was a great hunt with a great TBHer and I look forward to hanging out with them again.
