    GoPro app remote range

What kind of range are y'all getting out of your gopro using the app? I bought a 4 yesterday and tried it on the range today and couldn't stay connected past 20 yards. I have an iPhone4.

Depends on line of site. With line of sight I could control it around 100 yds. If line of site has interference such as grass, brush etc I've lost signal at just a few feet.
That was with my iPhone 4S also. Had t tried it with my 5 yet.
    Hope this helps.

I've only tried it out to 30 yards and it worked fine.

          My experience exactly.

Thanks. I'm going to try it this weekend while hunting. Maybe there's too much interference in town? The app pretty much pushed me off the fence to buy one. But, if I can't use it at bowhunting ranges It's not much good for my use.

A related question. To get a decent kill shot pic, how close to the deer does the camera have to be? I was thinking of mounting mine on the same stand as the trail cam, about 15 feet from the feeder.

That's what I was thinking too. That's why I was experimenting with placement. Trying to figure out how close it needs to be to the animal.

From my limited experience with mine and animals it would need to be REALLY close. My dog was about 4' from mine while filming fireworks on July 4th and the video makes the dog look like she is 10 yards or more away

Anyone experiment with angles as well? For example, placing the GoPro on the ground and facing it upwards towards the feeder where the deer will feed?
