AT&T Customers: Ask for your free data upgrade!

I went to the AT&T store yesterday to turn in my iPhone 5s because my 6 came in on the Next Plan. As they were processing the old phone, she said, "Would you like double the data you have for the same price? We're having a limited time offer, it's a free upgrade, no throttling, just a thank you for being a loyal customer."

I was like ....."are you serious?" She assured me it was legit. So instead of sharing 15 gigs of data between my iPad and iPhone, I now have 30 gigs. It doesn't make sense to me but I'm just passing it on to everyone. YMMV

That's awesome! They throttle me after 2 gigs and I'm on the "unlimited" plan.

I got off that plan a few months back. It's costing me more money but I like being able to get online and have speed rather than have all the data I can use at dial up speeds

I wonder if you can call customer service and ask them to do that?

Never hurts to call and ask.

$30 a month for 30 gigs is a heck of a deal if you ask me.

No throttling. Not buying it. I work next to the ATT stadium and don't get service. No service at the lease either. I do get wifi when I'm at home, but att has nothing to do with that. We are ready to try a different carrier.

I see a regretful post in your future on how bad your service is with xyz carrier.

I doubt it. Son has Verizon, gets signal at the lease and he has no regrets. Guys at work have T-Mobile and they get signals. But go ahead and stick with being throttled.

I suppose it all depends on where you are. At our lease (Coke county) Verizon was spotty; could text sometimes but always had trouble with calls. I went with T-mobile for a while because it was cheaper and got zero signal. I had planned on just getting a by-the-minute GoPhone just for the lease.

Switched to AT&T and have fabulous service, voice and data. Plus, their newer pricing was in the same ballpark as T-Mobile. No complaints, but I'm not a big data user.

I work for ATT. Double data promotion for free is ONLY for 15GB mobile share plan customers or higher. No exceptions. Ends on the 31st. For the guy complaining about $30 thats cause youre on the 10gb plan. Triple the data for only $30 more more is a steal though.
