Gun storage

It's terrible to see threads about guns being stolen.
I only have a couple and nothing worth anything really, at least not enought to justify a good safe so the other day I put mine in cases and up in the attic.
Figure that might be the last place a thief might look.

Anyone else store them up their?

One of our family friends house was broken in by teenagers when they were on vacation...they went into the attic riffled through paperwork slept in their beds and ate their food. This was 30 yrs ago. If they want them they will find them no matter where you hide or lock them up...locking them up just slows them down maybe enough to deter them.

Be careful about storing your guns in the cases, easy for them to rust.

Temperatures in the attic could cause problems with wood warping/cracking and as mentioned rust.

I would worry about excessive heat in the attic also

If you are going to hide them somewhere out of climate controlled invest in some Bore Stores cases, these cases are amazing for long term storage.

I had not thought about the concerns mention. I know my attic is well ventilated but it does get freakin hot. I'll keep an eye on them and just see if i might need to find a better place.

Really I didn't know that I keep my most expensive guns in cases

Do not store guns in soft cases even in the house UNLESS you leave the zipper open. It will sweat inside the case if it is entirely sealed.
