Replace shower pan

Anyone done this? Ours has the beginning of a good crack. Really just want to do a swap for cheap. Looks like I should be able to remove the door, brutalize the grout and either mangle it out or remove it in one piece, then slide the new pan in....but I'm not a man that likes home repair surprises.

You speaking of a fiberglass shower "pan" style bottom? Or what plumbers refer to a "pan" a hard plastic liner behind a fully tiled shower even floor? If your thinking of a fiberglass bottom it not to bad but it's set in there with grout under it it's an undertaking

From what I know it is not that easy

Somebody replaced the pan in mine at some point and did not do it right, luckily the only damage it caused was easily repaired when the new shower was tiled in

Tore out my shower a few years ago and framed t bigger. Lots of reasearch and the right materials and some YouTube videos I put my 1st shower pan in and it is just fine these days. It was not a terrible job and I did get the slope just right on the first try.
