Has anyone hunted this part of Texas? I'll be going next weekend on a free range deer hunt, but wondering how this area is. I know glassing and hiking will be a must, but any other tips for this area? I'll be southeast of Marathon...

I've only quail hunted out there. It's one of my favorite places to be in the State. You gotta go eat at the gage hotel if you've never been there before. Burnt biscuit cafe is a must too for breakfast. Have fun! -
Hunted the Catto-Gage Ranch back in the mid-70's. Driving around it was not uncommon to see 50 bucks a day. Only time I've ever seen a mtn. lion.Comment
