What does a good moose hunt cost? elk hunt as well

I did an unguided DIY archery moose hunt in Ontario 5 years ago. We got 2 bull tags and cost $3100 total. It was like $500 for the tag, and it included lodging. I think they will run as high as 25 grand and anywhere in between. I just got back from a guided moose hunt. PM me if you want details.

I was just researching a mule deer hunt in Alberta. That was $5500 and you could add moose for a grand.

Just looked online at a Newfoundland moose hunt that was priced $3900-$7500, depending on the hunt.

So for moose I think it really depends on the type of hunt and area.

For elk I would like to hear what others have to say, I want to do a guided elk hunt someday.

Yukon moose 15k plus

Good elk hunt guided with good chance at upper end trophies 7-10k

There is a huge range for those animals. Outfitted moose hunt in the Yukon will run 15-18,000. BC moose I have seen in the 8-9000 range and up to 12-14,000. On those hunts a lot depends on the transportation. Like charter flights. Elk hunts that are outfitted can range all over the place. Good hunts when you draw a tag can run $3500-4000. I hunted the wagonhound when I drew my unit 7 tag in wy and it was $7000 I believe. On that place you get what you pay for! The Indian reservation hunts range from $15-25,000 when I have looked.

Can shoot upper end shiras fairly reasonable in the $6-8k range, some of the BC & Alberta outitters will let you add other animals to those hunts for just the costs of the tags which are fairly cheap.

Quality elk that's basically 100% on 360+ bulls will run North of $10K.

Of course, a drawn tag will likely cheapen those hunts.

You might look at drop camps. Far cheaper and we were always put on elk.

Yukon moose is going to run you 18K for a quality hunt, this does not include airfare, I may have missed the boat on this hunt, had my chances about 5 years ago, really messed up hunt.
