Now I see why it's called Brush Country?

Working in San Antonio, decided to drive to pearsall. I've never seen so much HF and thick brush! Would love to hunt some of these senderos? Someday, it's on my bucket list!

I can relate being from Louisiana........it is something you actually gotta see to understand. I am quite partial to trees.

Being from southeast Texas you would think I am the same but I am the complete opposite. I like being about to get up high and see for miles.

HF/LF is up to you. The brush is thick and vegetation really beautiful. It is a blessing to be able to hunt in South texas. Best thing about hunting here is you never know what will walk out of the brush.

I currently have scrtaches on my arms and cactus in my knee to prove it. It can be brutal. BTW once season starts you can see some big bucks in backs of trucks there in Pearsall.

Hunted S. Texas around Concepcion for 10 yrs before I started hunting E. Texas. Still miss sitting 20' up in a tripod on a December morning watching the south come alive especially on the first frosty morning of the year.

made a trip to benavides a couple years ago to a group lease with a buddy. There isnt any brush taller than 3ft. Strange sight to see for sure when your used to trees. What appears to be nothing comes to life after corning all the roads.

Rough down there. Don't really care for it. I love my east texas pine trees and oak trees.

                        Yep, this.

Although, I do miss hunting around Bronte in between Abilene and San Angelo.

Drilled in those East Texas pines a few wells. Had to drive out to the highway to keep from goeing insane. Give me the brush country anyday.

Hard to beat watching the sun rise/set in down there, I'd rather be there any day of the week!! Hunting something other than that South Texas Brush country just isn't the same!

I love the brush country and the woods.
If you spend too much time in piney woods, a south Texas sunset will blow you away.

That said, you sure can miss those trees when you are away.
