    Acorns yes; corn no.

Neither coons nor hogs nor deer are currently hitting my feeders - acorns everywhere. Two feeders, two gamecams - one each in Bastrop & Lee Cos.

Figuring it'll be late Nov. or early Dec. before hunting anything will be worth the trouble.

Yeah but all bets are off when the rut hits, which for me will be around first of November

hard to compete with acorns, but once they are gone, or we get a good cold snap, it will pick back up again.

No oak trees around my deer lease. I dont miss acorns at all. I had too many at my old lease.

Ha! On my place they are not even eating the acorns... its a Persimmon festival first! Our feeders are spinning very very short burst of corn and critters are picking at it, but only on their way to where they are going.

Do you plan on having a shooting proficiency test at your place prior to the next hunts?

I went this past weekend to our lease near Brownwood and acorns everywhere there too. Very little interest in the feeders during daylight. I'm hoping the storms last week knocked every available acorn down so that the feeder activity picks back up as soon as the ones on the ground are gone.

Deer like acorns over corn, but Vanilla over acorns!

No, we are going to buy more Crown Royal and not even bring the bows next time. And if someone shows with a bow...we plan to call up a tracking dog in Polk County in advance.

We have a ton of live oaks, but the deer still like the corn too. Maybe I we just have a lot of deer. You can always hunt the acorns, or hunt trails. There's no way i wouldn't be in the woods until late November or December. Its still worth it to be there. You sure cant kill one from the couch.
