Missed on tine, 11 with kickers. Better in velvet, thin in hard horn...he's great genetics afield this year and next year, he may be more?

He looks better in velvet, they all do. Once you go eyeball to eyeball, and pass, something triggered to make that decision? Many of us pass, for one reason and or other but, when we do, it's typically due to something that could be improved on. A buck like that, is a great looking buck but, his breeding genetics as he is now, would go a longer way for the overall herd.

I dropped a mainframe 14 point in Sonora, nice buck but, in hind site....sure should have let him walk a year or two more. Didn't have game cameras leading into the first time visual, so once he stepped out, he pushed my buttons. Yours may be a reverse of this? He looks bigger and better on camera but, once he stepped out, he's a bit thin in the overall mass department. Considering where your at, and the later part of Mexico getting better with the rut and post rut scene, you will see him again...probably a few more sitings. I would have done the same thing...too much good down there to sort through and if the other opportunities don't add up, you should have this one dialed in enough to close the distance for the LDP.

Patience gets rewarded and Mexico and Deep South Texas requires a lot of patience.

      Good luck!

You did good from what I have seen down there. He looked young from the frontal view and very old from the side. feeder #8 hmm. I thought #5 was the hot spot. Very cool. Keep sending pics. You will have another encounter.
