2010 Polaris 500 crew running problems?????

I hope the GS can help me with this. We bought this crew new in 2010 and as of a year ago, this machine hasn't been running right. It will die after you drive it a mile or so. Then it takes about 15 minutes to get it started again. It also has revved up the RPMs on occasion where you have to turn the machine off and then back on. I've taken it to two different Polaris mechanics and no one can fix it. It is currently at a dealership.

The original mechanic found a wire that was freyed and replaced it. He also checked the TPS sensor with his computer and didn't find an issue. After this, the machine did the same thing as soon as I got it back to the ranch. It has left us stranded several times. We took it to a local dealership 3 weeks ago. He has replaced the original wire repair and replaced the fuel pump. He called yesterday and it is still acting up.

Anyone have any ideas? I've searched the web with not much results. Can y'all help?????

Is it maybe vapor locking causing it to not start for about 15 minutes later?

This may sound crazy. But, mine was doing the same thing until I changed gas caps. Try running it with the cap loosened or off.

            Electrical or fuel???

Check fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail.
            Check/replace fuel filter?

Only fill to 3/4 full. Fixed mine when I started doing that after being in the shop twice at genes polairs.

That sounds like a bad fuel filter to me. Once they get stopped up, you get surging, stalls, and all kinds of other wacky behavior.

It is something that is a regular maintenance item, and should not be expensive or difficult to replace.

Check to see if the gas cap is venting.
