I stuck a decent 8 pt sunday morning at 720. Got down at 820 and found him just 75 yards away. I walked back to get my phone for pics. When I got back to him there was a 175# hog pulling at my deer , luckily he had just gotten there and I ran him off. This is the second time I have had hogs on my down deer. I'm starting to wonder if all these "coyote eaten" deer we think we lose are not more often hogs getting to them? Thoughts?

this was back in '07 a buddy of mine shot this doe and went to recover it about 1-1/2 hrs after he shot it. He still had that much daylight left to hunt , he had heard the doe fall behind him and about 45 min left of daylight he heard the big boar eating away. Needless to say the big boar took a dirt nap the following weekend.

Omnivores! Sows have to hide there litters when birthing....boars will eat them as they drop....Ive heard stories of boars getting after new born calves...Lets face it guys...ones a hog gets to 40-60 lbs not much in Texas other than us that can put the whack n stack on them! Coyotes and cats don't like to attack things that can cause them injury. High risk! I love hog hunting. almost as much as deer ,well maybe even more cause it used to be more affordable....not so much any more these days.
