    Still no deer

Must be an ocean of acorns out there or something. Still no deer coming to the feeders, or even to the handfuls of corn I've put out here and there, even with a little vanilla "sweetener." No tracks, nothing. 3 weeks left before shootin' season. Hmmmm.

Get off your butt and on your feet and do some still hunting. Nothing is more rewarding that finally convincing yourself that it's time to go where the deer are. Even if you get busted, at least you saw some deer.

In same boat man. I went yesterday and changed some things. I had a tripod feeder and a free choice feeder running. I took away the tripod, moved the free choice and just put the corn on the ground. I moved the tripod feeder to another spot and put a stand up there. I sprayed vanilla all over yesterday, so we will see.

Well, SwampRabbit, I still hunt all the time. No deer to be found. I only have 25 acres out here, but normally you constantly see deer, like daily. Same thing in the pasture across the highway from us. During deer season, there's a huge herd of 30+ deer grazing out there at sunrise. So far this year, nothing over there either, not even a track.

Now that definately stinks. I would be wondering what bumped them out, or pulled them away too. Last year, for us, it was definately acorns. They were all over the ground. Some folks wouldn't move away from the feeders. However, we could see them using thier normal, or slightly different travel corridors because they were still bedding on the property.

Again, that does stink. And I appologize if I came accross as being a smart*ss with that comment. I can be a smart*ss, but I usually try to avoid it on the forum. I shouldn't have assumed you hadn't tried other methods or the size of your huntable area.
