KILL EM ALL!!!!!!!! they are a pain in the *****. lol no but really I would much rather not have them. They will drain a feeder and not let anything else get close to it. They even run off the hogs!!!!!!!!!!! There is one cow on our lease that has decided that one feeder is hers. It just needs to get a little cooler. I dont want to try to pack an elk out of the hills when its 110 degrees.

Free Range Elk in Texas?

My brother has a lease in West Texas. A few years ago his neighbor brought in a few 18 wheelers full of elk and released them. The place is low fenced, so now my brother sees them occasionally on his property. They haven't shot any as there is some question about the legality of doing so because the elk are all tagged.

here is a picture of one of the elk on our west texas lease--there is a herd of about 30 to 40 elk that pass thru our lease. the lease is in the glass mountains; these are free ranging animals--about 5 yrs ago one of the guys that used to hunt with us shot a 7x6 scored in the low to mid 300 it was a hell of a elk. Oh cost was 7500.00--we have to pay extra for elk
