anyone own a polaris ranger 500?

Im looking at side by sides been wanting one for a while and found a great deal on one a while back and it ended up falling through

Trying to decide between new and used as im not fining many good deal on used. Original budget was 10k and 6k for used but come to find out there more than i was expecting

I plan on using it for the deer lease mainly will get multiple hours a night put on it in the offseason riding around varmint/pig hunting. during season will fill feeders etc. will rarely pull a trailer with it and will put a high rack in the back for putting along if i have a 3rd person

off season may hit a few parks but will be going around the big stuff. i have friends that ride the parks every weekend.

will this thing spin a more agressive tire? im not talking crazy just 28-29 inch big horns or somehting of that nature

Ran across the polaris ranger 500 and the price tag is more to my liking are they underpowered? do you wish you bought bigger?

I saw the mules are cheaper than the competition as well but they just dont seem to have any power for larger tires from the reviews.

still not against used and not set on a ranger but want to hear opinions on what they are calling the "mid size" side by sides

I have a 2009 Ranger 500 and it has more power than I ever need. I pull my 10 foot trailer that I haul it on with. Never had any issues with going anywhere at all. Rarely have to use the 4WD going through anything wet or muddy. You won't be disappointed.

I have a 2006 ranger & have never felt like I needed more power. Has pulled trailers, been loaded with feed, people etc & never began to feel like I needed more power. It is the older style that was full sized so 2 people no problem.

I just bought a new 570 EFI. It was 9200 out the door from Hoffpauir in Goldthwaite. It has plenty of power.

I really like my 500. It fits in the back of my F350 which is a huge plus.

I have a 2010 400 ranger and it has plenty of power for a deer lease ride. I love mine. I pull trailers around the lease with stands, fire wood, corn, hogs ect... and it does just fine. I think the 500 has more hp, not sure. I know it's fuel injected where mine has a carb on it.

I ride three adults in it pretty often. Not bad at all. I have four boys and I put a 2x6 across the back bed for a bench seat. They sit there all the time. I mounted it with dowel rods in the bed top holes so I can move it forward or back as needed. Works great. Just drilled a hole in each end of the 2x6 and glued in the dowel rods. They are only about 5 inches long.

We have a 2014 570 EFI. It will do everything you want it to for the most part. Not overly crowded with two large men.

500 will be plenty of motor. But honestly you would be surprised at what the wider stance will do in the mud. I wouldn't go bigger than a 27" tire. We have had 3 Polaris 500s currently still have a 2005 and a 2010 500. All have been very good machines. If you leave them stock they will last you a long time and will do way more than you expect. I've had the bigger tires and so on. And all of mine have been converted back to stock. I've pulled 16ft trailers, Broke sway bars because of overload etc, etc and not once did I not have enough power. Yea ive overloaded them i know their not 1 ton trucks but they are **** stout little rigs.

I have heard the same thing. I have a '12 800 with power steering and love it. Great little machine. It is all stock. When it's time for tires I will go with a different tread and "maybe" the next size up in tire, but only cause I don't do a bunch of mudding. I have heard the axles and u-joint on them don't do well with larger tires. Keep them stock and they perform like a champ.
