Will Mule Deer jump the string like WT's do?

I'm going on a mule deer hunt for the first time and really do not know what to expect on a shot over 30 yards. Any advise on how they react to string pop would be appreciated.

I've only shot one mule deer. He didn't even so much as flinch until the arrow was through him.

Aim exactly where you want to hit him. He won't move until the arrow hits him.

Big, trophy mule deer are a lot smarter and difficult to hunt than whitetails in my opinion. They are definitely not stupid.

I've only been around mule deer once, and they were not near as spooky as whitetail. But it was private land in Texas. You could literally walk up to bow range.

It's not a fair comparison, but I'm gonna disagree. Mule deer are dumb lol. But very hard to get a giant with a bow mainly due to terrain. They are not near as easy to pattern as a whitetail.

As has been said, they won't jump the string. If they do it won't be much.

Mule deer are far from dumb and a lot harder to hunt than a stupid whitetail that comes to a feeder for dinner every day to risk getting shot. You get one chance at a buck most of the time. If you bump him, he will leave the county! But mule deer will jump the string. Had it happen to me last year. Good thing I got an artery in the back leg or he would have never died.

I take it most of you say they will not jump the string. Russ, you say they will. At 50 where would you aim on a mule deer?

Agreed. I aim where I want to hit

This one wasn't stupid, he didn't jump the string either but I shot him at 89 yards

I've never seen them do it. They bug out differently than whitetail. They usually sprint forward then stop and try to figure out what happened. Then they bounce going away.

A trophy mulies is supposed to b one of the hardest hunts. They seem stupid to most here n Texas cause they don't get hunted much and for most part can't shoot doe. U head out west and see how hard it is. To the OP have no idea. I've been trying for a couple years and haven't shot an arrow.
