    Odd colored vane

Which way does it need to be facing on a right handed bowim thinking away from the string is that correct?

I put mine facing up. I'm not an expert though and don't know what difference it makes.(I use a drop away rest) My trad bow is set up with the odd facing out.(shot off the shelf)

Mine go on top inline with the string.

        Depends on your rest.
        My cock vain faces up.

I also made all of my fletchings white. Click image for larger version

My cock vane goes at a 90 degree angle from the bow because that is how I was taught to do it back in the 80's. Which way it needs to be on your setup depends on how the nock is in. The whole idea is to have it set so that the vanes don't hit the bow when you shoot it. With modern bows it probably matters very little in comparision to what we shoot back in the day.

It depends on what type I arrow rest you have. They are not all the same. Most fall away I think they are down. Whisker biscuit any way is fine

Mine is out to the side

Yep, depends on the rest. I went from a drop away to a whisker biscuit so it doesn't matter. I don't have a clearance problem with my string/cable either.

Up will give you the most clearance on a qad, I've learned this over the past 5 years. But it's not a huge deal either way if you are shooting a fall away rest

Same here but my cock feather is slightly turned. Almost 1:00

If you use a fall away rest it really doesn't matter as long as it does not hit your cables

the wb instructions said to minimize wear on the rest to have the cock feather up. the denser filaments are down, so it might effect the vanes somewhat if one has to pass thru it.

Interesting. Can you explain how in the World it would matter?
