Cell phone blockers?

I have always wondered, does walmart have signal blockers in their stores? I was going to use my bar code scanner app to price check, but I couldn't get any signal anywhere in the store. Do they do this to keep you from price checking items against other stores?

Metal framed roofs....drops my signal way low but I can still use my bar scanner.

I doubt seriously they have any kind of blocker....customers would stop using them.

Ive never had trouble using my phone in a WalMart. Lowes is a different story tho

I think that's illegal. Anytime I've taken a pic of someone who was shopping in their pj's, or shopping barefooted, my texts to my friends always go through.

I've never had a problem in WalMart or any other store.

I would bet you are already in a low signal area and the metal roof and support structures are effectively blocking what little signal you have.

My signal will usually drop a bar or two, but I'm in a 4-5 bar area, so no problems.


To those that are saying a cell phone blocker would be illegal, why would it be?

I would be very surprised if they did. There would be too much liability for potentially blocking a 911 call.
