    When to start ratteling?

So when is the best time to start ratteling? Is it to early yet? I've tried it a few times here and there but not sure what time of year it works best? Pre rut, full rut, post rut? What's y'all's opinions?

Last night two bucks locked up for a quick minute but were ran off by a bigger buck. I usually will mess with it starting late oct for the most part.

Little rattling now as the bucks are finishing up their 'pecking order'. Im in the hill country and I've had bucks on camera locking horns 3 weeks ago.
      I've typically rattled mid October.

I will start when I begin to see the first ground scrapes being made. Not to aggressive though. They are trolling looking for hot doe at this time and marking their territory.
          Good luck. It's a blast!!!

Haven't seen any ground scrapes yet, but haven't been out walking abunch don't want to disturb area, checked game camera this morning and have pics of a nice 8 following a doe thru one of my food plots yesterday evening. Might do a little light rattling in the morning if I don't see anything.
