    First time in the air

So I'm from South Texas where we don't have a tree to use a climber and the idea of climbing up on the air on a piece of little metal has always a little made me a little hesitant. Since I'm up here in Missouri now, my buddy said a climber is the way to go, and I'm currently sitting 20 feet up a tree right now. Was a little weird climb up but now that I'm settled in, I could go to sleep in this thing. Might have to invest in one of my own!

I also from s Texas. I doubt one of those things would work very well on the mesquite bushes we have down here, but I really like tripod hunting so given the chance I'd try one out for sure.

Are you wearing a harness and a life line?

What exactly do you mean by life line? I had a harness on and tied a rope to the tree and hooked into that?

I am still a rookie hunter. The first time the guys taught me how to use a climber i was sweating my butt off. Its a little weird feeling when your feet slip or you find a knothole you can't get the strap over. It was scary as heck when it was dark in the morning. I ended up getting the hang of it and it was pretty comfy after my heart rate settled.ha ha!

Haha. same here, i felt like i had climbed to the top of the tree and that to myself "this should be good, its not too bad" and then i looked down and i had only gone about 10 feet in the air.
