Ok first I will give a little background. We have a place out towards dripping springs and it seems that no matter how early or quietly we get on stand the deer know that we are there. We have pictures of deer at the feeders on a very regular basis but when we are out there hunting they don't show. We have pictures of deer at the feeders only hours after we fill them so the idea was suggested that instead of trying to sneak into the stands we might have more luck if we get dropped off in the ranch truck as close to the stand as possible. Has anyone tried that?

I do this at my bigger ranch and we don't have any problems with it, they see trucks out there all the time when we are checking on out horses, and cows -
I doubt they know your there.
I think it has more to do with acorns being plentiful.
The idea to be dropped off certainly would not hurt but in my mind not nessessaryComment

On one ranch that I have hunted for several years, we always have someone drive us right to the stand in the ranch truck. Never had a problem with it.Comment

I don't see why it wouldn't work deer will stand 20 yards off the road and you can stop and look at them in the truck and they don't seem to mind but if your on foot you can't blink before they are goneComment
