Do you want to know how to read them or what to look for?

Let's see-- the contour lines tell you about elevation change--that is, if they are close together, the terrain is steep. Flatter terrain, lines are farther apart.

Also, countour lines that are shaped like a "T" are either a gulley or a hill depending on which way the contour lines are noted.

Look for the areas with a high fence around them. If you want to be honest and really want to hunt look for contour lines and water and the easiest place to get from Point A to B. Use google maps zoomed in to see other details.

Look for pinch points where the critters have to follow one route...............

Possibly but not a very deer draw. Look at the numbers on the contour lines, they are your elevations. Darker lines are hundreds, lighter lines are 10 ft different.

Looks like a wet weather creak from the small hills to the west of that pinch pinch point

Thats a creek. along the northwest side is a small ridgeline. I would check out alittle more northeast or southwest of your pin on google earth for penchpoins.
kind off whare the conture of the hill comes close to the creek. just my thoughts.

I'd say no. A deer is going to travel that ridge by coming up on the gradual slop to the left and down of that pin.

Here is a link to Army Common Task Manual - Goto page 3-217 to begin your reading on how to read a topo map
