Who didn't go and what do you think you missed...

So... i took a day of vacation today because it was opening morning and my sons 8th birthday. We normally try to go hunting but this year we stayed up late and he decided to sleep in and so did i ...this is what i missed out on. Anyone else make this mistake?...lol

Got a text from my buddy at the ranch.(he does not bow hunt) He pulled cards and said two shooter bucks have been at a feeder 15 yards from my blind the last 4 nights in a row about an hour before dark. And here I sit in a hotel room in Tulsa. Hope they keep that pattern up until next weekend!

I was just to lazy to drive yesterday.....prayfully did not miss much. Maybe tomorrow I can make a 4 hour drive for a day or two.

I know I missed out. I am the only bow hunter on my Llano lease. First time in 10 years or better I haven't been in a stand on opening morning. Had the final surgery on my leg Thursday from getting rear-ended by a texting driver on my street glide. I guess it could have been worse. To be totally honest it is eating me up not to be in the woods.

Daughter has a soccer game this morning. Didnt want to go sweat in the tree stand this afternoon. Will be out first thing in the morning.

Dang! I missed the parking lot full of cars and trucks on the public lands I hunt. And all the people complaining about there being to many people on it. That's what I missed this morning . I'll just wait till every one gets it out of their system, or go during the week when I can park without a prob .

I didn't go but I didn't miss out on anything near as good as what I would have missed out on if I had been in the stand, it was a great morning!




My little flag players team lost but my older sons team played a team who always dominates the league. They had not lost a game this year and had never even been scored on...until today! Not only did our boys score on them they beat them in double overtime!
