    Lease Maps?

Trying to figure out how to make an aerial view map out of our lease, anyone have any recommendations on apps or programs to download. Wanting to add where we have all our stands and feeders. Also want to keep it free.

This is a way of doing it...to get better resolution, you can crop in sections (zoomed in closer) then paste them all together like a puzzle cropping areas as necessary. You'd be surprised how much detail you can get. good luck

use Google Earth. You can download free topo maps for GE. They also have older imagery, very helpful to be able to look back a decade or so at what has taken place on you land!

Google earth is the way to roll. You can have multiple layers in multiple folders.

X2 on Google earth.. You can put pins down for marking stands, draw lines for trails/outlines/water and even view historical photos of your property! Our lease is a new pine plantation so by looking at 2005 aerials I was able to find all the hardwoods!!!!

Oh ya, you can also check distances in feet/yards/miles. Pretty dang cool.

What I did was mark the property line and stand locations on Google earth on my computer. You can then save the google earth file as a ".kmz" file and and email I to your self and open it in google earth on your iPhone.

Google earth works well but what I really like is Bing Maps "Bird's Eye View". They use photos taken from planes that fly over the area. Here's an awesome site that ties them all together in one view: http://data.mapchannels.com/mm/dual2/map.htm

Talk to Scott (scdavis50). He has all kinds of cool tools for mapping your property.

The problem I have had is getting a large scale size say 3'x3' or so printed. If you take an 11x17 to fedex and have them blow it up it gets too distorted. Any advise on getting a larger scale map printed so I can laminate it?
