Freestone/Navarro County hunters, where are you taking your deer and hogs to be processed this year? I lost my hog last year to the big mess at Champion/Brothers processing near Fairfield. ( made a lot of people sick, deer and hogs rotting in coolers, shut down after TPW and Health Inspector's raid)

That us where the problem began. I happily used J & S out on Fm 833 for years. They sold out and that is when the new guys from Champion/ Brothers took over. A lot of people, me included, had no idea they were using J & S's good reputation to open up rip people off. Soon after the season closed this year, they were shut down on numerous health conditions and a lot of people lost their deer and hog kills when the meat was condemned and destroyed. Too much details to repost. If you are interested in more about it, there was a lot of discussion on the GS . Article in paper last week says the old J-S is opening (AGAIN) under new operators this year. Redemption Meat Processing. Says Jimmy Sherber is still the owner and leasing the operations to Dustin O'Bannon. Phone 903-389-9964.
