If you don't like how the public school is teaching them, you always have the option to teach them in your own home. It works pretty well for a lot of folks.

Well, Yeah, our ancestors were. I say our, because I'm of mixed ancestory. There's plenty of history to show that. In the end it doesn't really matter too much. It is what it has been. Some bands/tribes have thrived, others have not. Take a trip to Oklahoma or Northern, MN. You'll find places where Tribes are almost totally automamous. My home reservation in N. MN issues it's own drivers licenses, license plates, has it's own police force, operates it's own cassinos, has it's own hunting and fishing regulations (turned out not to be a good thing, the netted the lake out before they woke up). I guess my ancestores never saw the population explosion that imigrattion brought. Maybe a lesson there looking south.

Kind of got wound up and off track, hope it made sense.

My parents homeschooled me and 4 other siblings through all of our schooling, and we turned out pretty good. Lol

            Otherwise, I agree with you

So your saying we did something different to them than they did to the people they took the land from??

Some of the most awkward people I have ever met were home schooled. Not saying all home schooled kids are socially awkward but plenty are and its prob because the parents don't provide scenarios for them to socialize such as sports, boy scouts, church, so on so forth.

I work in transportation and can assure you we would never leave a child on the side of the road because they aren't on bus roster.

It however is not common core as it is a Texas only program. I honestly believe that 98 percent of all complaints on the public education system in Texas are unfounded. I believe it all comes from a lack of understanding of the system itself. Of all the teachers I have taught with from Dallas to mount pleasant to angelina county I know of no teachers who do not try their best to educate our kids to be the best that they can be.
My little sister teaches 5th grade. Apparently a lot of teachers are downloading this common core junk and passing it off as a lesson plan. It is not allowed for a school district to officially adopt it, but individual teachers have been caught using it. My sister told me none of the teachers she works with are using it, but we are a small school, and still hold onto some traditional values. May change soon, the new principal is from Houston area school, and a liberal, at least from what I can tell.

No matter what the lesson plans are what's in the teachers heart will come out in the lesson. If the teacher loves America then the students will see that in the lesson

IMO its more the parents fault than the teachers. You should instill discipline, patriotism, dedication, and work ethic at home. The teachers job is to teach by the book if they teach something that goes against the morals and beliefs you teach at home then explain to them that different people have different opinions and they are allowed to have that opinion. Instill good morals at home and your child should be able to see through the BS at school.

I take it you don't work for a school district? I know in the three districts I have worked as well as where my dad drives a school bus they are not allowed to pick anyone up not on the list. Parents must come up in the summer and sign the kid up.

What would you do when that 8 year old that is not on your roster pulls a gun from his bag and kills half your bus load? It would be ALL on you and the district. Now if he was on your roster and did that you area then not liable.

How am I failing when I am stating the policy of four different school districts.

It is how it is, and at least in East tx every district I know of has rules on who to pick up as well as where to pick them up. Sorry you don't want to believe that.
