Deer Toes

Has anyone collected deer toes? My wife is chickasaw and we went to the cultural center. We watched an Indian Stomp dance and the women had deer toe rattlers strapped to their calves. There must have been 40-50 toes on each leg. They were pretty cool to see and hear, here is a video

It would take me years to get that many even if you get 8 toes per deer.

They could get lucky and kill one like Chrisgunguy killed behind my house where the dew claws were almost as big as the hooves.

Yeah, I collected them for years during high school. Left them in a big cardboard box in barn when I went off to college, and weevils got in there and pretty much distroyed them. They are not hard to collect - just soak foot in boiling water for few minutes, then take screwdriver or some similar object and loosen from the skin line and push down. They will pop off.
