    How to age axis?

Anyone have secrets to aging axis on the hoof? Do they age similarly to whitetail and have same life expectancy?

    Thanks

Old mature axis deer have really short looking legs and loose skin all around neck and brisket. Younger axis bucks always look kind of bug eyed to me as well. Im no expert as you can tell but I see axis regularly on one of my places.

I Think it would be similar to age characteristics of a WT

Easiest way. Obvi a mature one is gonna have body depth, big shoulders and neck. Look at the depth of the triangle of the side view of their head. The more blunt looking the snout looks the older they are. But I just normally see spots and start killing. Great eating. But don't want em on free ranger property.
