Here's my external setup with the Covert 12v-6v cable. Seems to be working pretty good I'm getting pics from as I'm posting right now.

Same basic setup as mine. I have read that some of the reducers or shorting out. Please keep this thread updated on how its working. Mine has been out four days.

          Covert 3G deployed.

I've been using 4 of the older models for 2 years, the cameras have performed really well. I'm on AT&T, and I have booster antennas for all cameras. The antennas give me 3-4 bars in areas where I don't get a good signal with my phone.

This month I upgraded all 4 cameras to the 2014 3G model, all 4 cameras were easy to set up and are working well. I did receive one dead camera from Covert, they shipped a new one via 2-Day UPS.

I'm a big believer in the cameras, the real-time G2 they provide is very helpful. It's easy to pattern the deer, and I know before I walk in to my tree-stands in the early AM if the deer are moving. I can also see if a feeder stops throwing corn, or if a protein feeder is empty.

The most difficult part of the process is finding someone at an AT&T store who understands what SIM card & plan to use for the camera. I use AT&T for my cellular service, adding the cameras to my plan was pretty easy.
It may take a little effort / trial and error, but I think the G2 is worth the hassle.
          Here come the deer now...

Yep. Down to 5 after about 6 weeks. Pushing 1200 pics. I did turn the pir off for 3 or 4 days back when it was real cloudy. Gonna get rid of 12v setup and go with two 6v's in parrallel with a solar panel and 12 aa rechargeables. My brothers going out next week and he's gonna setup for me. I wont be there until Dec 8 or so.

what kind of charging cable will you be using to be able to hook the 6 volt batteries and solar panel to camera? the 2014 covert solar panel plugs directly into camera not allowing to hook up a auxiliary 6 volt battery.

Are you using covert solar panel? If so how is it holding up?
