Short term maybe, but not long term. Now is a GREAT time to make some quality O&G investments.

I work for Nabors driving a vac and transport truck in Big lake. We got our hours cut a few weeks ago, no big deal. Got word today our pay is being cut though, just don't know how much yet.

I know some yards laid people off, we haven't had any yet though. Not to say it isn't coming.

Yep.. I may not make my money off of it next year but when it comes back strong (and it will) I will be happy with my investments.

They keep us updated on the snap-on and matco trucks about companies getting rid of mechanics. Baker has laid off a bunch of mechanics.

I ran across this job opportunity:
CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR for an Oklahoma City General Contractor needed.
Salary $110k, Bonuses, Profit Sharing, Car allowance, Health Insurance, 7 years of commercial construction estimating required.
                            Send résumé to: tcollins@forcepersonnelok.com

Maybe this could help some without a job now?

Yet another cut for us but this time benefits.. No more 401k matching. That makes it sound like theyre expecting a long while before it gets good again.

Wow that's big. Sorry to hear that bphillips. Monday is D-Day for us, we have a big meeting schedule, with big wigs flying in from all over. Interested to see what it's all about, and what actions will be taken.
