Nothing special in carthage, center area. Not familiar with thw jasper area. Used to be a place called lucky charms in carthage. It shut down a couple years ago. Awesome food.

Mary Kay's as mentioned in San Augusting has a lunch/hot table each day that has home cooking type meals. Very good eating.

Mary Kays is a pretty good home cooked meal. In carthage I usually eat at Rancho Grande. Its nothing over the top but its good food and its clean and in carthage thats what u look for

If you make it as far south as Jasper try out Hamburger Depot.

                Great burger

Hamburger Depot has the best burgers in town. The new Asian place is ok as well as Cedar Tree, Elijah's Cafe, Smitty's Smokehouse. If you want Mexican, turn west on 190 at the main intersection, 1/4 mile turn right on Main, another 1/4 mile on the left is a mom/pop Mexican place that is pretty good.
